After reviewing all of the excellent entries this year our committee chose Fiona Yelkovich as the recipient of the Cadden Memorial Scholarship.  

Our review committee, consisting of twelve independent readers, rigorously reviewed each applicant. After much deliberation and consideration, we have chosen to award Fiona Yelkovich with the 2024 Cadden Memorial Scholarship. Fiona’s essay “My Owl” reflected an emotional depth and artistry of writers beyond their years.  The author’s maturity and poise as they reflected upon their lived experiences was evocative and heart wrenching.  We look forward to their future successes and are deeply proud of their accomplishments.
